New positions will be updated as they open. Contact us if you think you can support the cause of girls’ education and women’s empowerment in any capacity.

Kiran Anjali Project’s (KAP’s) mission is to uplift underserved girls in India from poverty to independence
through education. We raise funds in the US to provide scholarship money to our partner organizations
so girls can attend school. Our partners educate and support students from preschool through university
and help them obtain employment once they have finished school.

KAP was founded in 2009 by Linda Floyd and Cheryl Hoye. While living in India, they volunteered with a
girls’ school and upon their return to the US they decided to form an organization to support education
for low-income girls in India. Thus, the Kiran Anjali Project (named for their daughters) was born.
KAP currently partners with four projects in India: Carnation Center, a pre-school and after school
program; Baale Mane, a residential facility for low-income girls; Shalini Fellowship Program, a five-year
program that provides scholarships and academic and emotional support for girls starting in 10th grade;
and Kriti, an educational program that provides education for low-income girls.

This is an exciting time for KAP. In August 2022, we hired an interim executive director to help in
developing the infrastructure to support hiring paid staff. With the board no longer responsible for the
day-to-day administration of the organization, this frees them up to spend more time on fundraising
activities.

The annual budget for 2023 will be about $450,000. In addition to the Executive Director, we are also
hiring a half-time Marketing and Fundraising Assistant in Seattle and already have a full time Program
Manager who lives in India. In October, we voted in five new board members with a wealth of skills to
help raise funds and guide our growth.
